Well, here I am...today marks my ELEVEN year anniversary of moving to New York City. Unbelievable. I packed up a rented SUV from DC, and drove up here with a friend and moved into an apartment on 49th/10th. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but NEEDED to be a part of this city. My first job was working the front desk at Gold's Gym (which is now the Crunch where I still teach), and committed myself to slowly making a life for myself here. I've learned so much about myself in these years. I think the best thing I've learned is to listen. Let life guide me in the direction it wants to go, and not fight it. That old saying, "everything happens for a reason" is so very very True. I've had some extremely tough moments, and some moments that were so fantastic, they wouldn't have been possible without being here. I started 2015 off with a simple resolution to just say YES. Say yes to everything that came my way. I said yes to every opportunity to work, travel, meet new people, experience new things, and even relax and take it easy at times. I've learned a lot about myself and the people in my life. Some good, some bad, but all worthy of examining as a part of my journey. It's all okay because it happened. 2015 is in the books now, and it can't be changed, so I'm excited to keep going. 2016: Let life happen. It's there for me. I'm going to enjoy it. Happy New Year to everyone!!!! Thank you for being a part of my life.
